...about Building Church Websites

In January 2004 I knew zero about building a church website. Now, I am doing it. But I am also now wondering if it is fulfilling its mission to:

1. Serve the church and its membership

2. Serve as an evangelism or outreach vehicle for others

The first is accomplished. However, the other is more difficult to do. And I am not certain how to go about it either. If it is a church website, people are aware of that. It is no mystery so I don't understand why some people say that we should not use "churchy" stuff on the home page. It will "scare" people away. Well, I have no idea what a person is to place on the home page then.
I think the risk must be run. I need to think about this some more. I am sorely perplexed! I wish I were wiser.

Helping Out

I was just thinking what a wonderful privilege it is finally to be able to give back to a person who has given me so much. I don't have so much to offer this person; but an occasion came up, and I was able to help. What a joy it was! I felt so grateful that I could do so.

It is nice to receive, but enough is enough. I am in the kind of position of needing to receive more than I would like to...And am not able to give in the way I have in the past and enjoy doing. This was great. I have had a wonderful day because of that. Thanks to Bob.
